Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia
The expiatori Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia, work of art of the architect Antoni Gaudí, is the most characteristic monument of Barcelona. The construction started in 1882, however the “maestro” couldn’t complete it and nowadays it is a work in progress. This is the posthumous work of the great architect Gaudí.
In Calle Mallorca you can see the main façade, also known as 'Fachada de la Gloria'. In Calle Marina you can see the 'Fachada del Nacimiento' and in Calle Sardenya the 'Fachada de la Pasión', that represents the death of Christ. If you keep walking from the corner of the streets of Marina and Provença, and continue up/down Avenida Gaudí, you will arrive at Calle Cartagena, where you can find the famous Santa Creu i de Sant Pau hospital.

This hospital was designed in 1902 by Lluis Domenech i Montaner and opened in 1930. It is formed with 16 decorated pavilions that are increasingly being allocated for museums and therefore losing their function and facilities as a hospital.
